This page is a brief summary of the important policies that directly apply to all students. For example, it covers such topics as cancelations and refunds. Please read this page well!

A much longer, traditional “Terms & Conditions” page (complete with tedious “legal language”) can be accessed at your leisure through the footer of this website.

AGE

A student must be at least 12 years old to participate in any lesson, class, workshop, or other program offered on this website. Any student under 18 years old must be enrolled by a parent or legal guardian.

REFUNDS

When you enroll in any program offered on this website (be it a private lesson, a package of private lessons, a group class, a workshop, or anything else), you have a limited window of time during which you can withdraw your enrollment and receive a full refund. That window of time ends 14 days after your payment or 24 hours before the beginning of your program…whichever comes first.

The New Student Starter Package has a more lenient refund policy. You can withdraw your enrollment and receive a full refund up until 60 days after the date of purchase, or up until 24 hours before the start of your first scheduled lesson…whichever comes first. This still applies even AFTER you do the 30-minute initial consultation. In other words, you can do the initial consultation and still request a refund, provided that you are still within the window of time just described.

EXPIRATION OF PRIVATE LESSONS

A single private lesson purchased individually expires 30 days from the date of purchase.

A package of 10 private lessons expires 5 months from the date of purchase.

The Private Lesson Starter Package (3 private lessons plus 30-minute initial consultation) expires 60 days from the date of purchase.

MISSED APPOINTMENTS

For our purposes, a “missed appointment” is any program of any sort that you sign up for but don’t attend. Please know that there are no refunds, make-ups, reschedulings, or any other accommodations for missed classes.

PRIVATE LESSON CANCELATIONS

If you have a private lesson scheduled, and you realize that you need to cancel it, please let me know as soon as possible. If you do this at least 24 hours before the beginning of our lesson, then we will reschedule the lesson for a different day and time. Of course, that day and time must occur prior to the expiration date of the lesson.

If you contact me to cancel a lesson less than 24 hours before the beginning of the lesson, then the lesson is considered to be a “missed appointment” as described in the section above. In this case, there is no refund, make-up, rescheduling, or any other sort of accommodation.

THE “KINDNESS” POLICY

I’ve been incredibly fortunate over the years. Nearly ALL of my students have been wonderful people. Many of them have become dear friends of mine…and some of them have even become dear friends of each other!

With that in mind, I assume that the people enrolling in my programs will continue to be kind and respectful human beings. However…on the off chance that someone of a different nature happens to enroll, I think it’s important for me to make the following points clear:

There is no amount of abuse, disrespect, insults, or general nastiness that will be tolerated or accepted in any of my programs. My students and I are all participating in these programs because of our love for drumming. In short, we’re there to support each other and have a good time. If someone finds their way into our midst and demonstrates a different agenda–an agenda of negativity or disruption–then that person will be banned from the class with no refund or other accommodation.

If you’re reading this, then I don’t expect that you yourself would ever be the troublemaker. Still, I hope that this policy gives you a sense of safety and reassurance about joining us. I’ve created these programs to uplift, educate, and inspire. That’s what you can reasonably expect to experience when you enroll…nothing more, nothing less. I look forward to meeting you sometime soon!

Thank you!
